City’s Boost In battle
to avoid the Big Drop

CARDIFF City FC Ladies defeated Reading Royals 4-2 at Cardiff Athletics Stadium.
     Wales under-18 internationals Emma Meredith and Jenna Hopkins scored one goal each, with Kath Pigdon and vice-captain Julia Sinkins claiming the others.
     The three points are a welcomed boost as City battle to avoid relegation from the FA Premier League Southern Division.
     City Reserves also had success with a 3-2 win agains Ross Town. Swansea-based PE teacher, Nicola Paddision scored the winner after a lengthy lay-off from a serious knee injury.
     The first team are home to Barnet tomorrow (2pm)
     Newport County Ladies FC strengthened their mid-table position in the Southern Division of the FA Premier League.
     Claire Davies, Sarah Gregory and skipper Sian Rogers scored for Newport in a 3-0 win over Ipswich Town.
     Club coach Brian McAughey said: “The girls can now enjoy the rest of season - it’s been a bit nerve-racking stepping up to this level - now they can look to develop ready for next season.”
     Bangor City Girls FC continued their winning ways, defeating Coventry City 3-2 at home. Gill Smith, Ceryl Jones and Siwan Elenid scored for Bangor.
     Cardiff City Ladies turned a 2-1 half-time deficit into a vital 4-2 win against Reading Royals. Emma Meredith, Cath Pigdon, Jenna Hopkins and Julie Sinkins shared the goals.
