Good Kit | ||

Good Boots | ||
|
If your feet are not right your not going to play the ball so well, good comfortable boots that fit like a glove are important. Womens feet tend to be slimer and lighter than mens, it's a real pain doing the rounds of all the sports shops trying to find boots that are hard to find. Womens football (soccer) boots are available in the USA, but they are hard to find in the UK. The best I have found are the Adidas Predator Precision SG (mens) boots which really make a big difference to my game. Very briefly, the snug fit, firm but flexible double sole, efficient blade design means: more grip, more speed, tighter turns, less mud stuck to my feet on wet days and better shooting and passing. You may find them expensive at 120 UK Pounds (I did) and they have had a few problems with the first batch of boots (made in the far east). Problems included loose studs, sole comming away and wear after 10 premiership matches. Adidas have just replaced (8/03/01) my first pair which seem much improved. I've recommended some improvements to the design, watch this space for more information as it unfolds. |

Good Protection | ||
|
Shin and Ankle Protection is a must, you really do have to have the best protection you can get. One hard knock and your out of the game for a while with poor quality protection, its not worth it. I have tried some big name brands, the best I have found is "Sondico Titanium Pro" which provide light weight heavy duty shin and ankle protection. These have helped me cut down on injuries and carry on playing after really hard knocks. These are also hard to find in the UK, I spent many days going round all the sports equipment shops and suppliers, no one has ever had any in stock. |
